Below is a
response from Bonnie Ryder to the vignette of the UK
loosing it's gun rights.
Bonnie used to be a
member of GPSL and a local shooter in GA. and all
over the Southeast. She moved out to Colorado a few
years back, and she had this to say..............
For the the last 4
years Lizard has been host to 6 gentlemen from the
UK who have come to this country for a 2 week
"shooting" vacation. We lend them gear and guns,
they practice with us for a day or two and shoot
whatever match is that weekend. Then spend a few
days at each of several other shooting facilities
(NRA rifle, 50 BMG, and/or 3 gun/full auto courses)
that are out here. They had all been involved
in some form of shooting competition in England,
with several shooting IPSC. All had
their guns confiscated in the ban. One of the
shooters had to turn in both his open guns! He was
so upset that the first 2 years I was out here I
couldn't get him to shoot one of my open guns even
in practice. This year however, I did convince him
to shoot open and he came in 2nd on one of the
stages!
To watch the joy on
their faces when they shot, then listen to them
say how much they miss it and how lucky we are that
we still have the freedoms we have, just about
breaks your heart!!
What happened to gun
rights in England IS the same thing that IS
happening here in the USA. If we loose our gun
rights - where will we go on a "shooting"
vacation???
